‘Return to Innocence’ Closing Reception & Fancy Receiver Tshirt Blowout

We had too much fun during Matt Furie and Jay Howell’s show, Return To Innocence, and we hope you did as well.
To send Jay and Matt off with a bang, gang; we are making a sicklike closing party / Receiver Guest Artists T-shirt blowout GTFOH sale on Friday, August 22! The same day! At the same time!
Closing Reception / Goodbye Receiver Guest Artists T-shirt Sale
Friday August 22, 2008
6-8 pm
We will be releasing all of our stock of one of a kind, never to be made again shirts by Receiver Guest Artists at ridiculous, blowout, last minute sales prices. The later the party goes, the cheaper the proddie. Art, cheap rad tshirts and beer = epic early evening action!
FYI: the Receiver Guest Artists series of tshirts have included designs by: Chris Duncan, Paul Urich, Chris Pew, Jafon Hakkinen, Ogi, James Gibson, Marci Washington, Caitlin Keegan, Mars-1, Ryan Jacob Smith, Matt Furie, Jeanna Sohn, Nathan Fox, Veronica de Jesus, Henry Lewis, Jesse Goldstein, Kelly Tunstall and Candice Obayashi (RCVR Brand)!

And you thought we just liked pretty pictures…
You may know that Receiver started out as an interactive design studio, and then opened it’s amazing little gallery. Well, we’re still designing stuff for the interwebs everyday, and taking much inspiration from amazingly mindblowing user interface / experience projects like this! Imagine this hooked into Google Earth…
Well, there’s a lot of new stuff going on at Receiver lately, in both the design studio and the gallery, and we’re getting quite excited to share it with you, our loved ones!
Good news!
We’ve decide to extend the showing of ‘Return to Innocence‘!
If you haven’t had a chance to stop by yet, be sure to check out new works by Matt Furie and Jay Howell before August 22nd.
Also, look for more info about a closing party/t-shirt sale coming soon!
Laying It Down
I’m usually not very political in this forum, but Congressman Dennis Kucinich is doing some good stuff in trying to get articles of impeachment passed to hold our current administration accountable for crimes against their own country.
SF Logo Design Contest

A little something we thought we’d share…sounds like a cool project! Young designers are wanted to submit logo designs for San Francisco’s new ID card. Big brother or big portfolio piece? Hey, it’s up to you!
In late October, the City of San Francisco will launch its City ID Card program. All San Francisco residents will be able to purchase a card, which serves as proof of identity, residency and age, can act as a library card, and provides discounts at museums, restaurants and more.
We’re looking for fun, attractive and professional logos that will appear printed on the City ID Card and marketing materials. Imagine your art work in everyone’s wallet!
Submissions must be received by Monday, August 11, 2008. Please send your name, phone number, address, date of birth and design to Sheila Chung Hagen by email or mail.

Happy 4th!
Hope you all have a great 4th of July weekend, filled with lots of sunshine, fireworks, grilled meat and ice cold beers.
We will be closed Friday-Sunday, but don’t forget all the art from the Matt Furie/Jay Howell show is available for sale online. Check it out here!
Receiver artist Scott Barry featured in Lemon Poppy Seed
Hi all-
Just a little note to share some of Scott’s images from the book Lemon Poppy Seed. Some of the featured images were part of Scott’s show here at Receiver last spring. There are a bunch of other cool artists featured as well… We picked our copy up at the MOMA but you can also get it online here.
